The RR show at the Diamond tonight was, yet again, top banana. They always give 101% and are a pleasure to watch and listen to. I've now seen RR more than I did the original band and I just pray that one day they play a venue that I can take my 10 yr old son to.

Finally, when I die, I want the Rainbow Rising version of "Catch The Rainbow" played at my funeral. It is superb; the best live cover performance of a song I've ever witnessed. I know I can't live forever but Long Live Rock 'N' Roll!

Hi guys,
What a memorable night it was in CC Eijsden (Holland) last Saturday. Your performance was abosolutely world class and hearing the Rainbow classics the way you played them was like a dream coming true...and I just wondered; could Rainbow do better? All I can say is you guys are really awesome and I am very very proud having you on our stage. We had really nice contact with all of you and I just want you to know we have a lot of respect for you. I will never forget the experience and I hope someday we can do this again and I am pretty much looking forward to that occasion. Tor, thanks for making it all work the way it did and I really enjoyed meeting you and the rest of the guys.
And Raggie, you guys ARE the real rock stars!

Hey Raggie, Barry, Steve, Tor and Mick,

How are you doing ? Tired from the "continental" weekend with the band 25th and 26th of May? I will let you guys know that I enjoyed your music and show last saturday in Eijsden (the very South of Holland) very much !!!! What a pure, original, authentic performance, good music, well players and the good singer of the band Raggie. After the show we talked a few words while eating a sandwich with cheese, very Dutch. My friend Ron and friends who run the RoosterRockpromotion did a good job to contract you. Wish all of you the best and hope to see/hear you one day again here.

Bye,
Luc van den Boorn

Too bad I had to leave before you were finished, but I hope you'l play in Antwerp again some other day, so I can watch the whole show!

Moses gate gig last night was awesome.
If it wasn't for bands like RR young people wouldnt know real music!!!!!!!!!!!
The music "kids" listen to know is all false.
Bands like RR keep rock alive. Real people, real musicians, real entertainers, real singers.
We regularily take our 10 year old son with us to gigs and he absolutely loves it. He tells his mates and teachers about it and they are all jealous! His 9 year mate has recently started to come with us. We will keep rock alive in the youth of today.

Oh, by the way Danny, you dont know what you are talking about RR keep rock alive. I have seen the real thing and I will keep seeing RR till I die! I would recommend you stay out of such conversations as I can tell you, you are out numbered by real rcok fans. YES, tribute bands are not the real band, but how often can you get to see the real thing??
I go to be entertained by people who live rock, play rock and play live. Yes we can all sit in our houses listening to CD's and watching DVD's etc but we prefer to get out and support tribute bands, otherwise rock will die for the masses!
I Suggest you go and see them and see who is right!

p.s

Mark and Rachel - had a great night and enjoyed the chat after and see you in October if not before

I am a Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow Fanatic and i feel that this it is an insult that any band should play under the authentic Rainbow band. Why do you have to play as another band? Can´t you make your own band? I don´t understand this. I dont think u should use the band name as ur own as i dont think anyone can add anything to it as it already got to its greatest with Richie Blackmore. Leave it i think its ridiculous

I was told by the Edinburgh venue that you would be playing there on 1st April, hence no ticket refund. Is that still the case, or was it just an April fool? We really fancy a trip up north to see you playing bigger venues with a better sound system as we still have fond memories of Butlins, you were AWESOME!

Hi guys just read your message on the guestbook. Apology acepted I must admit I was a tad pissed that no one contacted me but I have put it down to experience.
I would like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the gig and I do personally like Raggie and his singing. I was very aware about the dep situation it was made very clear from the start and that did suit me fine. As you know I have my fingers in many other pies and it does seem that I am about to start another recording project and my spare time is getting shorter by the minute. I can now go ahead and give it my attention.

One point I do wish to clear up having now read the guestbook is "Mozza" he is in fact my lodger and was originally going to be coming to the gig he has been a roadie with me on and off for several years he is faithful and is always sticking up for me I can see he has been very verbal including writing a message on my behalf please remove his messages as I don't think they help anyone in particular including him.

All the best of luck

We, (Rainbow Rising) would like to formally apologise to you for not contacting you earlier.
This is solely due to the fact that Tor has been unavoidably and unexpectedly called away on business and as such has not had, and will not have, any involvement in Rainbow Rising’s business affairs until early in the New Year.
As you are probably aware, Tor was, and is, the only member of the band with your contact details. Tor’s absence has resulted in us having to use the services of a dep. keyboard player on our last two shows this year (thanks again Stuart - top job you Mutha!).

We feel that the polite and professional thing for you to have done would have been to make an attempt to contact us before voicing your somewhat vitriolic opinion on a public guest-book, but as you have chosen this means of communication, we see no harm in continuing thus.

We would like to state, for the record, that we all, including Raggie, agree that you did an excellent job at the Cartoon - a fact conveyed to you personally by all the members of the band on the night, including Raggs. Your pedigree as a vocalist is not in question here.
One point we must clear up, however, is that it has never been Raggie’s intention to voluntarily leave Rainbow Rising, and for you to imply otherwise is totally false.

The situation is, and remains, as stated on the website:
Rainbow Rising require a deputising vocalist to dep. for Raggs on the dates he is unavailable. If/when the band turns professional this situation will change and we will need a permanent replacement, as Raggie is unable to commit to the band on a professional basis.
This position was made clear to you before the audition and was stated to you again by Raggs, before the gig. If you were/are under any other impression you are mistaken.

We would not and will not insult you by giving you any “bullshit” about being unsuitable as you ably proved yourself “live on stage” at the Cartoon.
However the unfortunate way that this potentially mutually-beneficial situation has degenerated into a guest-book mud-slinging session has led us to form the opinion that your inclusion in the band would not work on a personal level and as such we will not be asking you to join Rainbow Rising on a permanent or temporary basis.

We wish you all the very best in all you do in your musical career.

Kind Regards,

Rainbow Rising

Think he must be tone deaf or perhaps Cliff Richard fan. We have seen many tribute bands but none to compare with Rainbow. Mark's voice is one of the best we have heard. Get a life! MOZZA CAN YOU DO BETTER.

The whole band were great and I will definetely be looking out for you again. Guitarist is an exceptional talent.

Well done to Stu from Deepest Purple stepping into the breach to help out while Tor does panto (oh no he doesn't, oh yes.....). A great show by all the lads under the circumstances (no rehearsal and a few DP songs jammed on the night!). Who was the mystery lady dancing down the front..nice! (NOT!!!). And where was the rest of the f***in' audience? Disappointing turn out for such a great band. The Diamond on Saturday will be much more like it - Long Live Rock n Roll. See you again soon.
Cheers

Well guys the professional and polite thing would have been to say no thanks mate or perhaps you do not want a replacement vocalist what was it? It would have been nice to let me know and don't give any bullshit about not being suitable. Or has someone discovered that they now do not want to leave.

Hi there guys I caught your act down at the Cartoon the other saturday I was completely blown away by the guy who sang Gates of Babylon and Since You've Been Gone he was amazing (sorry no offence Raggie) it was like being in front of Ronnie some guy at the bar said he was auditioning for the band. All I can say guys is you won't be looking back with him on board (sorry again no Offence Raggie). Once I got home I remembered seeing him before in Sweden at a huge festival there. He was singing for the Ken Hensley Band (ex Uriah Heep).
So Hi Moon if your reading this I saw you singing in sweden in 2001 I've told my uncle, Manny Charlton (who was also on the bill) you were around he said he remembered you at that gig because you were note perfect on all the old Uriah Heep songs that you sang, he also said that you were even hitting the ones that the present singer cannot (sorry Bernie no offence) (July Morning etc) do you remember him?

Just got back after witnessing an incredible show at The Boardwalk, Sheffield. Immense set list from an amazing gang of muso's - also big thanks for the 90+ minute vocal session - it's been a long time since I got to hit the highs singing along to an outstanding frontman like this.

There is gonna be a review of the gig complete with pictures on our Rock/Metal Webzine www.metalliville.com in the next few days !!

A big hi to Sharon - not seen ya in quite a while
