Tor

- KEYBOARDS -

Tor was a huge Deep Purple fan, in particular of Jon Lord's keyboard wizardry in the early Seventies.

He, like many other fans, was deeply skeptical that Blackmore's new band, Rainbow, could deliver the goods in the same way that Purple had.

When he reluctantly went to see the new band perform live for the first time at Leicester's De Montfort Hall on Sept 1st 1976 he was hooked.

For Tor, the keyboard work produced by Tony Carey had taken the Purple vibe to a new, more intense level.

Over the years, even though the line-ups have changed, the unique chemistry between Blackmore's guitar and the keyboards has remained a constant inspiration to Tor's own playing and he now likes nothing more than to dazzle audiences with his intro to "Tarot Woman" or the guitar/keyboard duelling of "Spotlight Kid".
