Barry has worshipped at the altar of Blackmore since being a small boy.  Hearing Ritchie Blackmore play inspired Barry to take up the guitar. Barry is totally 'self taught' perfecting his phenomenal Blackmore technique by playing along to his idol's records. Barry has seen the real 'Man In Black' live many times and is a big fan of his current project 'Blackmore's Night. For Barry joining Rainbow Rising really is a dream come true and his obsession with all that is Blackmore is never more in evidence than when he is 'Live On Stage' with Rainbow Rising when he recreates Ritchie Blackmore in his prime with startling realism. His guitar sound and style are almost indistinguishable from the real man in black's and the almost unnatural way Barry can hold an audience spellbound during the outer reaches of Catch The Rainbow is equalled only by Blackmore himself.
